घर आने पर आशु ने रीत पर खींझते हुए कहा ...क्या मम्मी अब तो आप अच्छी अच्छी महंगी साड़ियां पहना करें ...अब तो आपका बेटा भी नौकरी करने लगा है.. पहले की बात कुछ और थी ..पापा अकेले कमाने वाले ऊपर से हम लोगों की पढ़ाई लिखाई... पुरानी बातें सोचते सोचते आशु कब अतीत की स्मृतियों में खो गया उसे पता ही नहीं चला....
सब आंटियों के साथ मम्मी भी शॉपिंग करने जाती थीं कोई साड़ी पसंद आने पर बार-बार छूकर देखती तो थी पर कीमत पूछने पर महंगी होने के कारण धीरे से अलग सरका देती.. फिर बोलती पसंद नहीं आया और सस्ती साड़ी ले आती फिर बोलती मुझे तो यही पसंद है...।
आशु छोटा होने के कारण समझ नहीं पाता वो सोचता ..शायद मम्मी की पसंद ही ऐसी है.. घर लाकर पापा को दिखाती पापा बोलते भी.. दूसरी वाली क्यों नहीं ली ..ये तो कोई खास नहीं है.. मम्मी का जवाब होता मुझे ऐसी ही चाहिए थी ...मम्मी का हमेशा समझौतात्मक उत्तर होता.. और उन्हें कभी इसकी शिकायत भी नहीं रहती...।
हां तो मम्मी आप शाम को तैयार रहिएगा... आपके लिए वो फेमस वाली महंगी दुकान में साड़ी लेने चलेंगे.. और पिछली बार की तरह कोई बहाना मत बनाइएगा.. इस बार जो पसंद आएगा बेहिचक खरीद लीजिएगा ऐसा बोलकर आशु दफ्तर चला गया...।

उसने उस फेमस दुकान में जाकर दुकानदार से पहले ही बोल दिया.. भैया मैं शाम को बेटे और पति के साथ साड़ी खरीदने आऊंगी तो आप हर साड़ी की कीमत 4000..5000.. ज्यादा बताइएगा फिर मैं बाद में आपसे ले लूंगी... रीत की मंशा समझ पहचान के दुकानदार ने हां में सिर हिला दिया...।
दफ्तर से लौटते समय आशु सोच रहा था.. ये मम्मी भी ना ज्यादा दाम देखकर साड़ी खरीदती ही नहीं है.. मैं एक काम करता हूं दुकानदार से पहले से ही कुछ बातें कर लेता हूं ..दुकान पहुंचते ही आशु ने दुकानदार से कहा.. अंकल शाम को मम्मी आएंगी साड़ी खरीदने आप सभी साड़ियों की कीमत...5000... 6000 ...कम करके बताइएगा.. बाद में मैं आपको दे दूंगा.. वो असल में मम्मी मुझसे ज्यादा पैसे खर्च नहीं कराना चाहती हैं इसलिए वो महंगी साड़ी खरीदती ही नहीं हैं...।
दुकानदार आशु की बातें और मनः स्थिति जानकर सुखद आश्चर्य से दंग रह गया ...इस जमाने में भी ऐसे बच्चे हैं जो मां बाप को जताए और बताएं बिना इतनी परवाह करते हैं ..वरना कुछ बच्चे तो एक करेंगे और दस बताएंगे... ।
हां बेटा जरूर ..बस इतना ही तो बोल पाया था दुकानदार आशु से ...अब वो कैसे बताता कि... प्यार और ममता भरी चलाकियों और भावनाओं में अभी भी मां की बराबरी कोई नहीं कर सकता....।
शाम को रीत पति व आशु के साथ इत्मीनान से साड़ी खरीदने गई चिंता मुक्त थी पहले से जो दुकानदार के साथ सब कुछ सेट कर रखी थी और इधर आशु भी आश्वस्त था...।
एक से बढ़कर एक साड़ियाँ दिखाई व देखी गईं... एक रानी कलर की साड़ी जो आशु को बेहद पसंद थी पर वो बहुत ज्यादा कीमती थी.. आशु ने अपनी पसंद बता दी थी एक बार फिर रीत के दिमाग की नसें दौड़ने लगी ...आखिर कितना... 4000...5000.. ही तो ज्यादा बताया होगा ....नहीं.. नहीं ..इतनी महंगी नहीं... फिर एक फिरोजी रंग की साड़ी वो भी कुछ कम महंगी नहीं थी फिर भी रीत ने उसे लेने के लिए हां कर दी.. आशु जैसे ही पैसे देने के लिए पर्स निकाला दुकानदार ने मना करते हुए कहा.. नहीं बेटा ये साड़ी बहुत कीमती है...।
इसका मोल कोई नहीं चुका सकता.. ऐसी प्यारी भावनाएं एहसास से जड़ी ये साड़ी अनमोल है इसका मोल रूपयों में नहीं हो सकता...।
जब बच्चे पढ़ते लिखते हैं तो हर घर में ऐसी परिस्थितियां आती है... पर आज जो आप अपने माता-पिता के लिए कर रहे हैं ऐसे अवसर बहुत कम घरों में आते हैं ...पर अंकल यह पैसे तो रखिए ...मैंने बहुत साड़ियों का धंधा किया है पर पहली बार किसी ग्राहक से पैसे लेने का मन नहीं हो रहा है...।
ये साड़ी मां बेटे के.. प्यार ..त्याग.. का साक्ष्य है.. इसकी कीमत लगाकर व कीमत लेकर इसका अपमान नहीं कर सकता ...मेरी तरफ से मां बेटे के ..प्यार.. परवाह के रिश्ते को... ये प्यारा उपहार है...।
इतना कहकर दुकानदार सोचने लगा... मैंने तो सिर्फ एक साड़ी ही दी है पर आज इन्होंने तो मुझे जिंदगी में रिश्तो की यथार्थता..महत्व.. व निभाने की बहुत बड़ी कला सिखा दी...
