There is nothing wrong in becoming a flower of the forest.

          Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was passing through the forest one day with a minister.  On the way he saw that there were innumerable beautiful flowers on a tree.  He jokingly said to the minister, 'You are intelligent, but like a flower of the forest.'  The ministers were intelligent.  They said, 'Panditji, the flower of the forest is always better than the flower of the garden.  He eats the open air of the forest, he gets the open sunlight.  No one even plucks it, whereas hundreds of hands pounce on the flower of the garden.'

             After listening to him, Nehruji said, ' But why do you forget that worship is always done with the flowers of the garden.  The flower of the forest is never offered in a temple or to a deity.'  The minister said, 'Panditji, tell me one thing.  Should the fate of a flower be appreciated only by climbing at the feet of the deity?  Is the purpose of the flower only to be offered at the feet of the deity?  Is it not a big deal to keep the atmosphere fragrant?  It may disappear while spreading its fragrance, but I can see the significance of such a flower.  Why should any flower bloom only for the deity?'

            After listening to the minister, Pandit ji said, ' You are right.  The flower of the forest is more worshipable than the flower of the garden.'  This minister, who explained the importance of jungle flower to Nehruji, was none other than Lal Bahadur Shastri, who later became the Prime Minister of the country, spreading the fragrance of his virtues all around.

             Many times we regret our fate, complain why I was not born in a rich house?  Why was I not born in that country or city?  I wish my father was also this famous?  We want to be like those who have got all these things.  We have to understand that the goal of life is not to get luxuries, to become famous, to be born in a rich family.  Do your part to improve the environment where you are.  Make a place in the hearts of people with your good behavior.

💐 Be kind to everyone.  Spread happiness like a flower in the forest so that people like you.  Don't envy someone's luck.

जंगल का फूल बनने में भी बुराई नहीं है।

               पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू एक दिन एक मंत्री के साथ जंगल से गुजर रहे थे। रास्ते में उन्होंने देखा कि एक पेड़ पर असंख्य खूबसूरत फूल लगे हुए हैं। उन्होंने मंत्री महोदय से मज़ाक करते हुए कहा, 'आप समझदार तो हैं, लेकिन जंगल के फूल की तरह।' मंत्री बुद्धिमान थे। वे बोले, 'पंडितजी, जंगल का फूल बगीचे के फूल से हमेशा अच्छा होता है। वह जंगल की खुली हवा खाता है, उसे खुली धूप मिलती है। उसे कोई तोड़ता भी नहीं है, जबकि बगीचे के फूल पर सैकड़ों हाथ झपटते हैं।'

             उनकी बात सुन कर नेहरूजी बोले, 'मगर आप यह क्यों भूलते हैं कि पूजा हमेशा बगीचे के फूल से ही होती है। जंगल का फूल कभी भी देवालय में या देवता को अर्पित नहीं किया जाता।' मंत्री बोले, 'पंडितजी, एक बात बताइये। क्या देवता के चरणों में चढ़ने से ही पुष्प का भाग्य सराहा जाये। क्या फूल का उद्देश्य केवल देवता के चरणों में अर्पित होना ही है। वातावरण सुगंधित रखना क्या कम बड़ी बात है? भले ही सुगंध बिखेरते-बिखेरते वह मिट जाये, पर मुझे तो ऐसे फूल की ही सार्थकता दिखाई देती है। कोई फूल आखिर देवता के लिए ही क्यों खिले?'

            मंत्री की बात सुन कर पंडित जी बोले, 'आप ठीक कह रहे हैं। जंगल का फूल, बगीचे के फूल से अधिक पूजनीय है।' नेहरूजी को जंगल के फूल का महत्व समझाने वाले यह मंत्री कोई और नहीं, लाल बहादुर शास्त्री थे, जो बाद में अपने गुणों की सुगंध चारों ओर फैलाते हुए देश के प्रधानमंत्री पद पर आसीन हुए।

           कई बार हम अपनी किस्मत पर अफसोस जताते हैं, शिकायत करते हैं कि मैं अमीर घर में पैदा क्यों नहीं हुआ? मैं उस देश या शहर में क्यों नहीं जन्मा? काश, मेरे पिता भी इतने फेमस होते? हम उन लोगों जैसा बनना चाहते हैं, जिन्हें ये सारी चीजें मिल गयी हैं। हमें यह समझना होगा कि सुख-सुविधाओं को पा लेना, फेमस हो जाना, अमीर घर में पैदा होना ही जीवन का लक्ष्य नहीं है। आप जहां हैं, वहां के माहौल को बेहतर बनाने में अपना योगदान दें। अपनी अच्छे व्यवहार से लोगों के दिलों में जगह बनाएं।

💐 खुद का आकलन करें, सोचें कि जब हम मर जायेंगे, तो लोग हमें किस चीज के लिए याद रखेंगे। आपको अपनी गलती समझ आ जायेगी।

💐 सभी के साथ मधुर व्यवहार रखें। जंगल के पुष्प की तरह हर तरफ खुशियां फैलाएं ताकि लोग आपको पसंद करें। किसी की किस्मत से ईर्ष्या न करें।
