हर इंसान प्यार और दुलार चाहता है, फिर वह कोई बच्चा हो या बड़ा। लोगों को यह गलतफहमी है कि बड़े होने के बाद दुलार करना सामनेवाले को पसंद नहीं आयेगा या उसे अजीब लगेगा, लेकिन ऐसा नहीं है। हर कोई चाहता है कि वह जैसा है, उसे उसी रूप में पसंद किया जाये। उसकी हरकतों पर उसे डांटा न जाये, उसे केवल प्यार-दुलार दिया जाये। हम सभी चाहते हैं कि कोई हमारे सिर पर हाथ रख कर हालचाल पूछे। जब हम नाराज हों, तो हमें मनाये। हमें सरप्राइज दे, कोई मेहनत का काम केवल हमारे लिए करे। आपको अपने बचपन के दिन याद ही होंगे। उस वक़्त कितना अच्छा लगता था जब हम किसी दूसरे कमरे में सो जाते थे और पापा गोद में उठाकर हमें बेड पर सुलाने ले जाते थे। हम इस पल के लिए सोने की एक्टिंग भी करते थे। बहुत खुशी मिलती थी जब हम ठंढ में सिकुड़ कर सो रहे होते थे और अचानक हमें अहसास होता था कि किसी ने हमारे ऊपर चादर डाल दी है। आज हम लोग इन एहसासों के लिए तरस रहे हैं। जहां भी हमें थोड़ा-सा भी इस तरह का एहसास मिलता है, हम उसी तरफ चले जाते हैं। फिर हम यह नहीं सोचते कि हम गलत कर रहे हैं।

              वर्तमान समय में विवाहेतर संबंध(एक्सट्रा मेरिटल अफेयर्स) की एक बड़ी वजह यह भी मानी जा रही है। शादी के बाद पत्नी की बच्चों के प्रति जिम्मेदारी बढ़ जाती है और वह बच्चों के साथ व्यस्त हो जाती है। उस पर अनेक पारिवारिक जिम्मेवारियां आ जाती है, जिसके चलते वह पति पर अधिक ध्यान नहीं दे पाती। ऐसे में पति बाहर कोई साथी तलाशता है, जो उसे प्यार-दुलार व समय दे।

            वहीं दूसरी तरफ कई बार ऑफिस में, दोस्तों के साथ इतना व्यस्त हो जाते हैं कि घर पर वक़्त नहीं देते। पत्नी को समय नहीं देते और पत्नी बाहर कोई कंधा तलाशती है, जिसे वह दिल की बात कह सके। यही बात पेरेंट्स और बच्चों के संबंध में भी लागू होती है। जिन बच्चों को घर में पैम्पर नहीं किया जाता, वे बाहर उसे तलाशते हैं। इन परेशानियों का यही इलाज है कि हर उम्र के व्यक्ति को, परिवार के सदस्य को प्यार-दुलार दें।
