'मुसाफिर जाएगा कहाँ'

अहमदाबाद में हम दोनों तीन दिन रुके और तीन ऐसे लोगों से मिले जिनके बारे में जानकार आपको भी अच्छा लगेगा। अपनी बात शुरू करता हूँ उदय भाई से। 

उदयसिंह जाधव आटो चलाते हैं। उनकी आटो में संगीत तो बजता ही है, गर्मी से बचने के लिए पंखा है, न्यूज़ पेपर लाइब्रेरी है, पेय जल का कन्टेनर है, नास्ते के लिए फरसाण रहता है, डस्टबिन भी है। 

हमारे आटो में बैठने के पहले उन्होंने हमें दो 'बैज' दिए, दिल के, जो वे अपनी आटो में बैठने वाले प्रत्येक यात्री को देते हैं। मज़े की बात यह है कि उनकी आटो में मीटर नहीं है, वे अपने ग्राहकों से किराये की बात नहीं करते और न ही किराया मांगते। आप न दें तो भी कोई उज्र नहीं, यदि देना चाहते हैं तो वे आपको एक लिफाफा दे देंगे, आप जो उचित समझे, उसमें भर दें, वे चुपचाप रख लेंगे और आपको प्रणाम करेंगे। लिफाफे तीन हैं, एक हिन्दी भाषा का, दूसरा गुजराती और तीसरा अंग्रेजी में। उसमें लिखा हुआ है- 'दिल से दें।' मैंने उदय भाई से पूछा- 'दिल से कैसे दें, पैसे तो जेब में रहते हैं ?'

'बिलकुल यही बात मुझसे महेंद्र सिंह धोनी ने भी पूछी थी।' वे हंसते हुए बोले।

'ऐसा क्या ?'

'जी, मैंने उनको कहा- 'दूसरे आटो वालों को जेब वाला पैसा पसंद आता है, मुझे तो दिल वाला पैसा चाहिए।'

'इस दिलदारी में घर का खर्च चल जाता है ?'

'हाँ अंकल जी, बीस साल से आटो चला रहा हूँ, मेरा परिवार है, मैं बहुत मज़े में हूँ।'

'मान लो, किसी ने पैसे नहीं दिये या लिफाफे में कम दिए तो ?'

'तो भी मेरा दिल खुश हो जाता है क्योंकि मैं यह आटो पेट भरने के लिए नहीं चलाता।'

'फिर किसलिए चलाते हो ?'

'खुशी के लिए, अपनी खुशी के लिए, सबकी खुशी के लिए। अगर किसी को मैं 'फ्री' में घुमाया और उसे खुशी दे पाया तो मेरा जीवन सफल हो गया।' उदय भाई बोले। 

हम उन टोपीधारी उदय भाई के साथ तीन घंटे रहे, पूरे समय वे हमको अहमदाबाद के बारे में बताते रहे, पूरा शहर हमें घुमाया और हर समय मस्ती में मटकते  रहे, गुनगुनाते रहे। अमिताभ बच्चन भी उनके आटो में घूम चुके हैं और उनके घर भी गए थे।

We both stayed in Ahmedabad for three days and met three such people about whom you would also like to know. Let me start my talk with Uday Bhai.

Uday Singh Jadhav drives an auto. Music plays in their autos, there is a fan to beat the heat, there is a newspaper library, there is a container of drinking water, there is a farsan for breakfast, there is also a dustbin.

Before we boarded our autos, they gave us two 'badges', of hearts, which they give to every passenger boarding their autos. The funny thing is that their autos don't have meters, they don't talk to their customers about the fare and they don't ask for the fare. Even if you don't give, there is no excuse, if you want to give, they will give you an envelope, fill it with whatever you think is appropriate, they will keep it quietly and salute you. There are three envelopes, one in Hindi language, the other in Gujarati and the third in English. It is written in it- 'Give from the heart'. I asked Uday Bhai- 'How to give from the heart, money stays in the pocket?'

'Exactly the same thing Mahendra Singh Dhoni asked me too.' He said laughing.

'What so?'

'Yes, I told him-'Other auto drivers like pocket money, I want money from my heart.'

'Does this kindness cover the household expenses?'

'Yes uncle, I have been driving autos for twenty years, I have a family, I am enjoying a lot.'

'Suppose, someone did not give the money or gave less in the envelope?'

'Still it makes my heart happy because I don't drive this auto to make ends meet.'

'Then why do you drive?'

For happiness, for your happiness, for everyone's happiness. If I can give someone a 'free ride' and give them happiness, then my life is successful. Uday Bhai spoke.

We stayed with Uday Bhai in the cap for three hours, the whole time he told us about Ahmedabad, showed us around the city and all the time he was having fun, humming. Amitabh Bachchan has also traveled in his auto and had also visited his house.
